This bug is reported while running 3.2.0-30-generic, but occurs when
running 3.2.0-33-generic or 3.2.0-34-generic (more often on -34).
Intermittently, the hard disk (Crucial m4 SSD) will report I/O errors,
and nothing can be written to disk any longer. Nothing at all - it
bec
smartctl shows no errors even when running a self-test, but report a
huge Program_Fail_Cnt_Total value.
I then upgraded the SSD's firmware to the latest version, we'll see how
that goes. Guess I shouldn't rule that out.

SSD firmware update seems to have solved the issue. Why it occurred only
in recent weeks, I have no idea, though. I've been running
3.5.0-19-generic since my last update without issues after updating the
SSD firmware.
