Setting do not always 'stick' in the network setting window and if they
do, they are not always applied. Many strange things can happen. If I
change settings back and to I get a lot of bugs.

On Precise (I've been playing around with a LiveCD), setting reveal
location to top left corner and setting reveal sensitivity to highest,
is almost like in Natty but it is nowhere near as responsive. It

Hey Michael, sorry I've not been participating recently.
I've had a good look at Aptdaemon and touched on the Python APT
bindings.
This is what I envision:

similar. I know Unity 3D heavily uses Compiz, but I don't know whether

install. If any changes have occurred that conflict with the install
then Synaptic should remove the install lock and ask the user what do to

BUGabundo: Software Centre (as it's called now) doesn't replace
Synaptic, it replaces Add/Remove Applications.
Synaptic is /much/ more powerful than USC, and I would hope that this
bug does get fixed at some point.

John, replace step 2 with 'Press Alt-F9'.
The point I was making about Super-D (or Ctrl-Alt-D), is that the
ability to minimise some windows seems to have been deliberately
disabled, but it's actually /possible/ to minimise any window.
See this screenshot, notice that there is no minimise button.

My work machine is called 'ellis'. I ran a webserver on port 80. I would
expect the command 'GET ellis' to retrieve html from http://ellis/ .
Instead it retrieves http://www.waellis.co.uk/ !!

It would still be nice to have Ctrl-Up/Down if bug #829805 was fixed.
