Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:
* Add this to your inputrc:
"\e[1;5A": reverse-search-history
"\e[1;5B": forward-search-history
* Open a new terminal
* Press Ctrl-Up
* Type some search text (something in your history)
* Press Ctrl-Up (or -Down)
Notice that the search text between the quotes (`') disappears.

Could this be related to the '\e'?

** Affects: readline6 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
