I'm still using Natty. I was thrilled when I first saw Unity. I loved how, at the intersection of the panel/menubar and the Unity Launcher, was resided the Dash Home button showing off the Ubuntu logo. Using CCSM, it's easily configured such that the icons aren't excessively big and clumsy, revealing Unity's hidden elegance. It was perfection!
I was shocked when I saw Oneiric and I'm still shocked. That there wasn't even an option to revert the ugliness that Unity had become. Not even in the Unity plugin in CCSM. Not even in gconf/dconf. Not even in some config file hidden away somewhere. Let alone a nice, user-friendly preference in system settings! Really, this sleek corner-button should have stayed the default with no need for a 'sleek-style' preference. A default Launcher width of twice the menubar height (48pix rather than the huge 66pix), also wouldn't go amiss. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/843373 Title: Dash button on a Launcher.
