I just noticed after the restart that APM is 254 but after resuming from
suspend it resets to 128. All this time I am on AC.
I apologize for the wrong information earlier, but nevertheless the issue still
exists as notebooks are very often put in suspend.

I just wanted to add that I recently changed my fonts size to 9 and now
the notifications bubbles are bigger and the text inside is bigger and
more readable. Before this my font size was default (10) and I was
affected by this bug.

As a matter of fact I don't have /lib/firmware/dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw file!
After a quick look in synaptic it seems that the dvb firmware is now packaged
in linux-fimware-nonfree.
I installed the package and after rebooting the tuner now works fine just like

Reopening, I just had this happen again, and I took a screenshot of it.
You can see that the "t" contact is hidden (offline) in gmail chat but online
in empathy.
I use empathy only for Gtalk so it's not another protocol or something silly

I was playing around with the new version of software store and when I tried to
install the game Cuyo the "in progress" button appeared, but when I click on it
it just shows the empty window. The package installs fine.

I noticed that the sometimes the text says "Pending" and sometimes "In
progress". Usually when there is only one thing to install it says Pending and
when there are more things to install it says "In progress".
But sometimes it happens that only one thing is about to install and the text
says "

I modified /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default as you suggested but there is not much
change.
This is especially noticeable during the "cold" boot. Xspash exits early every
time for me in that case (I am attaching a poor resolution video of the login,
