Ok, so I tried doing an "aptitude safe-upgrade", I figured out what went
wrong, our firewall didn't like linux-firmware_1.60_all.deb, because it
couldn't scan it, it just returned an error (504 if I remember
correctly). I had to download it manually from home and add it to
/var/cache/apt/archives/.

I have the same problem with 10.04. It was working for me with 9.10, but
since I upgraded it no longer works. I get this with f-spot, nautilus,

I think they are waiting on an upstream fix from xorg. I have no idea
on an ETA. Disabling DRI in xorg.conf and/or removing compiz is a
partial workaround. However, it slows down rendering on my machine so
much that I had to revert back to Hardy. I am hoping for a real fix
soon.

I have the same identical wireless card and had the same issue in Gutsy,
and it seems to me that this is no longer an issue in Intrepid. Looks
like the kernel developers did some good work.
ShinjiLeery, can you confirm? This bug should probably be closed.

It turns out, I can still reproduce this bug by reading from the hard
drive and the CD-ROM at the same time. I have taken further pictures of

I'm about to attempt an install of Intrepid on a Thinkpad T22 and a T23
for some friends, so I disagree with the "this card is now too old to
support" statement. What are you doing of Linux's reputation of running
on old computers better than Windows XP? Nothing indicates these
computers are dying,
