card has an infrared device which seems to work partially. I can get
some of the keys like 1-2-3...9-OK-VolUP,VolDown,Mute etc.

I confirm this bug on a newly installed Ubuntu 9.04 on an Acer 5652WLMi.
Video Chipset is an Nvidia 7600 with a G70 series core.
As a workaround, I had to kill the jockey-backend as adviced by Alberto,
then install nvidia-glx-180 package, wait for it to compile with DKMS,
then launch jockey again.
I confirm this bug in Ubuntu 9.04 updated as of 18/05/2009.
Keyboard layout is messed up completely. I also had to disable compiz to
get it to update the screen.

Hi,
I use Hardy 8.04 up-to-date system. However, I don't see any virtio
option within the Virt-Manager GUI when creating a guest VM.
What should I do to have it? My guest is not Ubuntu, but I know that it
has virtio modules built-in in its 2.6.24 kernel, just as Ubuntu.

there's no FB support. This is fired when Dom0 start the vfb backends while the
frontends (the modules) are not loaded in the DomU. When you load the modules

though I renamed the udev rule and rebooted.

I did tail -f to all the log files, nothing happens to the logs when the
mouse jumps to the top left corner. However, I tried to use the system
with keyboard, went inside and outside of HVM domU window, then X
crashed with the following log:

After installing updates of 25/9/2007, my Ubuntu Gutsy test system
doesn't have the peth0 interface anymore in the output of ifconfig -a
and thus xen networking does not work. Xen configuration files seems to
be OK.

The syslog xen related sections are attached...
It appears that the script is trying to use xenbr1, but it doesn't exist
in the system. xenbr1 once existed when my Attansic L1 ethernet card
didn't work reliably with xen, and I was using a USB ethernet. I don't
use it anymore, but XEN is stuck with

I confirm. I was playing with interfaces, unplugged an external USB
interface, plugged the cable to another interface etc, then while
checking my ifconfig output, here's what I've found:

I replugged my USB adapter and connected the ethernet to that, rebooted
the system, and now it works.
The xen bridge is still xenbr0, but peth0 came back. Continues to work

Just updated to 2.6.22-11-xen, running it since 10 minutes, looks good.
Networking runs fine without the ethtool trick. I'm actually making my

I confirm that it's built into the kernel as Chuck said before. You need
to put "fbdev" in the driver section your xorg.conf in order to load it.
However, I can't get xorg to load with some strange errors. Then SDL (or
VNC) window appears with the tty1 login prompt.

my hvm domu. Result:
- The mouse is not stuck (with evdev driver), but xorg freezez altogether,
can't even do CTRL-ALT-BACKSPACE
- With normal mouse driver, mouse goes to top left and stuck there, then xorg

I also confirm the behaviour. The volumes mount fine when I do:
'lvm vgscan'
'lvm vgchange -ay; exit'
as mentioned in the first post. The boot process works with a 2.6.19
kernel but not 2.6.20.

1) I started my system with the latest 2.6.22-6 kernel
2) Used "lvm vgchange -a y"
3) Mounted the root FS and continued booting.
4) Used my system a little with the new kernel.
and now I'm unable to boot with my 2.6.19 xen kernel anymore. It used to

I'm on Ubuntu 14.04. This is affecting me. I'm sharing my wifi connection. The
problem is that there's a server that has to be queried from a DNS outside of
my normal one, but since dnsmasq is using default DNS servers set by dhcp, the
devices behind this shared wifi connection can't connect to
OK, I managed to send a dbus signal to set specific dns for a specific domain
but this signal went to the initial dnsmasq started when system booted up.
So the dnsmasq started by the wifi sharing connection has no dbus interface and
it doesn't read the /etc/hosts. It has totally static hardcoded
What about supporting the real thing, ie "connected standby" or
"InstantGO" function. Isn't it yet supported by linux kernel? Without
this and without real S3 state, linux won't be really useful on a SP3
