1. This isn't a bug in the ubuntu-docs source package, so I'll open a target
for upstream ubuntu-docs.
(2. For what it's worth, I think that where an upgrade path is supported via
the GUI update-manager and not via apt, this is a bug.)

Gnome-app-install spends approximately 35 seconds on my system
calculating dependencies, and it does this AGAIN after each time I
install a new package. This means that I never use it, it is simply
unacceptably slow, since I can have the package installed in that time
using Sy
I don't think so. The dialogue says "Checking installed and available
applications" and then "This may take one or two minutes" (?!?!), so it
seems to be intended behaviour. It happens when I open the program and
_after_ I install an application on all of my systems.

addressed at a slightly different issue - this bug is that firefox
should be able to use the Gnome application chooser, whereas the
upstream bug is about creating a new application chooser, or something

documentation for the stable releases of Ubuntu. The reason for that is
that until the stable version is released, the documentation is

Daniel - I've tried this myself and get totally different results. I've
taken 7.10.3 from the archive, and 7.10.4 as a svn export. The debdiffs
look fine. I'll attach both the one on the source package (on the .dsc
files) and the one on the binaries (on the .deb files). My builds were
done on gutsy
Here's the other debdiff I get.

Ok, I've committed a fix for this to the docteam repository - I've
restored the script that pitti added for feisty to eliminate symlinks.
Hope that does the trick.

Following a discussion in #ubuntu-devel, I've made a further change in
the repository that only installs translations which are over 90%
complete; in order to slim down the package size to a manageable 1.3MB.
I understand this to be a temporary measure which we can then revert
when more space is av

thought I'd updated the changelog to include info on the 90% change, but
I don't see that on the version in the gutsy-changes list.
