I cannot reproduce the bug.
Are you using the autohinter? If you are the character will look like
88 instead of the actual font size.

Samson C01U USB microphone doesn't work in most applications when plugged.
The Gnome Sound Recorder with the volume control or the Gstreamer properties
show the microphone correctly but neither actually gets any input from it.
Audacity isn't able to access the device.

I'm currently using an updated feisty.
The Samsom CO1U usb is accessed with alsasrc device="hw:1,0".
Actually my usb webcam's microphone has the same problem. When plugged in and
selected, only Ekiga gets some input. When both are plugged in the second one
is device="hw:2,0".

Hmm, now Audacity is able to access the device to record, but it has no
device to output to. So I'm able to record, with the Samsom or the
webcam but unable to playback.

The screensaver messes up the gamma correction with the ati fglx drivers.
Whenever the screensaver starts in full screenmode, the gamma correction is set
to 0 for R, G and B.
