Public bug reported:
I just did a clean install of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a brand new dell
Latitude E7250 laptop and it won't boot claiming "No boot device found".
I chose to completely overwrite the existing Windows 7 installation and
to encrypt the entire installation. If I boot from the USB stick
I tried the boot-repair tool to get it working. I first had it generate
a report:

I then had it do the automatic repair:

Now it seems to boot to Ubuntu, but doesn't seem to know about the

I have glipper installed and recently updated to precise pangolin.
Regularly, I get a message that glipper died after logging in to my
machine. The little glipper icon remains in the bar at the top of the
screen, but it is unreactive. This sounds pretty similar to the
original bug report even tho
I am getting the same behavior using a Lucid installation with all the
updates - pdftops processes that use lots of resources and never end,

ago, so this must
I also note that deleting the print job (from the graphical interface)

dared to wait and must be manually killed.

I am desperate to find a workaround to this bug. Does anyone have any
idea where to start looking?
Is this bug the same as Bug #614238 ?

Ignore the last comment. I don't know how this unrelated email ended up
being directed to launchpad (perhaps a Thundebird bug...).

Hi,
Yesterday I tried using my laptop again to give a lecture using an
external monitor. With the latest Precise updates, the behavior is now
even worse. In addition to the waviness, every 30 seconds or so the
laptop would disconnect from the external monitor and go through a
series of screen fl
