Using this, the earlier attachment now prints ok. The original bug is
partly fixed; huge files still get created in /var/spool/cups, but
they are manageably large (at least the test case I just tried).
Printing is still slow, though.

The new pdftops fixes the printing on one side problem. But the other
problem is still there: printing beyond page 8 of the earlier

worked, so maybe there is something about the particular way evince
interacted with cups. Also useful for reproduction: from evince, I was
trying to print on both sides of the paper.

/var/spool/cups/tmp. E.g. 1G and above, over a period of about 1/2 an
hour. Eventually, I run out of disk space. Attaching my
/var/log/cups/error_log with debugging turned on. Job 339 is the ugly

of 35 minutes. The temporary file in /var/spool/cups/tmp now hits a
maximum size of about 20M, whereas before it was going above a

Actually, not quite a dupe. Yes, they now have a horizontal scrollbar,
but it's still a major pain to read long lines - if you flip between
logs, the scrollbar gets reset to the left hand side. So this is a
wishlist item for a word wrap option. I expect Gnome will reject it
because Options Are Wron

It does what it says, but it's still suboptimal. The choice is between
having one wall per monitor, which looks strange, and having a single
big wall with the monitors cutting the workspaces. It would be ideal
to have just one wall, but not to split workspaces over screens. But I
appreciate this is

Result:
* eth0 cannot be brought up by ifup or ifconfig
* after "sudo modprobe -r e1000; sudo modprobe e1000", eth0 is available and

I didn't get this bug with 2.6.24-19, but I _do_ get it with 2.6.27-1,
using iwl3945 1.2.26 (the default version that comes with the 2.6.27
package, I guess).

Sound was working fine with the standard Hardy kernel, but with the
2.6.27 kernel from Intrepid (and everything else unchanged) it breaks as
follows: after playing any sound, the sound crackles and hisses, and
won't stop - even if I run /etc/init.d/pulseaudio restart.
