Public bug reported:

(See also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-
manager/+bug/157993, maybe related.)

I have a pppoe connection with alice.de, i.e. AOL. It is probably buggy
in some way since on Windows it reports a non-functioning network
connection, though it works fine.

On Hardy, I have an intermittent bug in which, when managed via nm-
applet, the pppoe connection doesn't work. A typical section of
/var/log/messages, after I tick the nm-applet box for my pppoe
connection, would be

If I execute "sudo /etc/init.d/networking stop; sudo /etc/init.d/networking
start" then my pppoe connection works fine.

This bug is the same whether I use NM 0.6 or the 0.7 version from the
PPA.
