I just tried a fresh install in VMWare.
After clicking help in gnome-screenshot, it takes 4 seconds for the help window
to appear and then 8 seconds more for the content to appear.

I tried ubuntu-9.04-beta-desktop-i386.iso on vmware and after boot the
"taskbar" is full of some windows (they have the drawerbox icon, the title is
only "...") and they keep "moving" (either new ones are continually added or
removed).
The desktop is black and the mouse pointer is the wait one.
I tried the daily (jaunty-desktop-i386.iso from 31-mar-2009)
and there it works:
After booting the live environment from CD, clicking menu Places /
Computer gives the "Computer" windows with proper content.

On Ubuntu 9.04 (up to date) I did this:
- create a folder in home dir
- right click it and select "Sharing Options"
- in the dialog enabled "Share this folder"
- OK'ed the dialog saying to install sharing components, entered password
- in a dialog telling me that a restart of
gnome-panel 1:2.26.0-0ubuntu7
Ubuntu 9.04
- set top panel to auttohide
- click the network manager icon, so that it's menu opens
- click into some application window (I have Firefox)
Result: panel never hides
Expected: panel hides after timeout

Recently I burned a DVD-R from an ISO image file.
It was very slow.
The reason: brasero reads the input ISO file twice, once for the
checksum, then again for the actual burning.
In my case the file was heavily fragmented and the performance was
