I was able to enable the headphone part of the jack via the hda-jack-

When I plug a pair of headphones into my T410s running Ubuntu 13.04, the
sound comes from both the headphones and my speakers. This does NOT
happen when running Kubuntu 13.04, thus it seems like an issue around
the way Ubuntu/Unity/Gnome manage audio.

config change as the older Kubuntu 13.04 install did not have this
issue, but booting from a recent live image showed the same problem.
