I just tried it on Intrepid amd64, and the behavior still exists. I
don't have a Jaunty box set up yet, but will in the next two weeks or
so.
Remember, the trick is to go to Amazon.com, go to an item page, Select
All, Copy, paste into a Pidgin window. The text in the description is

I'm experiencing this crash with Firefox and Meebo.com on a fully up-to-
date Hardy Heron i386 system. YouTube works fine, as do the Javascript-
heavy NetVibes and Gmail, and the lightly-scripted Roundcube Webmail.
A few retries later, and some general usage on other sites, and I am

I just encountered this problem, as well, but in Hardy amd64 final. One
must start pidgin at the command line with "pidgin -n" and quickly
disable the plugin before it attempts to contact the dcopserver.
MusicTracker should fail gracefully if it does not find dcopserver, as
those not using any KDE
I tracked it down to src/amarok.c. The plugin, if set to auto, polls
every now and then, and if dcopserver is not running, then the call at
line 25 eventually fails, but doesn't set any kind of state that dcop
isn't running.

This happens to me regularly. It seems to happen most often when I open
a few sites all at once, for example while reading Digg and opening
articles in a new tab and moving to the next Digg tab before reading the
newly-opened tab. It's almost like there can only be a few instances of

I hit this bug today. I have 2.0.1-1 of php5-imagick installed despite
having hardy-updates in my sources.list. Linking /usr/lib/libWand.so.9
to /usr/lib/libWand.so.10 seems to work sufficiently for me.

Fresh installation of Ubuntu Karmic RC. Fire up the Ubuntu Software
Center and search for "twitter" or "identi.ca". Gwibber is not in the
result set, but many other clients are. A search for "microblog" yields
it, though.
This likely needs to be fixed in the debian package.
Looks like perhaps a recent package update added it, or I'm losing my
mind.
