Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid). There was some hassle, perhaps changing between
the drivers a couple of times and a couple of reboots, but no tweaking
of xorg.conf, etc.

Yes, the bug is obviously fixed now - I haven't noticed. The Gimp user
guide doesn't mention this handy way of installing the plugins, and the
package name "A repository of optional extensions for The GIMP" is
somewhat misleading. Perhaps I should contact Gimp documentation people
about this.

1) Take two NFS clients, one of which is running 2.6.24-something (machine B)

Same problem here. There's just one SATA-disk in my system, and I
installed Windows XP first and then Gutsy beta (Daily, October 4).

the horizontal value first. I don't know, but perhaps changing the

the boot, as 2.6.20-14 does. Version 2.6.20-13 works fine.
