Is this still a problem? Certainly on my netbook for both 9.10 and the
alpha 2 10.04, my screen dims correctly on battery power if I leave the
keyboard and mouse unattended for a short period of time i.e. when

update, and also installed the Sugar package when I noticed this problem

This report looks like I used Ubuntu's assistant after crashs to commit
it.
Well, I haven't had any troubles resuming from hybernation or standby

with Pulse Audio but not sure. When recording in Audacity in Karmic the
system becomes unresponsive. And sluggish. Remenicent of the Firefox

Yup me too. Similar problems to those listed above. Happens for me when
I change my status to hidden, which makes me wonder if I actually am...
Cant leave off-line messages and MSN doesn't seem to work properly with
Empathy. I'm using the karmic test program.

Thanks for this workaround folks, works a treat for me.
You can avoid the need to use save as and copying files by starting gedit with
sudo and then opening the file you want to edit.
Alt-F2 to bring up run command
tick the "run in terminal" box
Type this into the command box
sudo gedit /usr/lib

I read I have to chmod 644 the directory.
so I made chmod -R 664 /usr/bin/seamonkey
