started seeing issues with getting into Xorg.
My config:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G92 [GeForce GTS 250]
(rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: Gigabyte Tech
I downloaded the nvidia-340 package from the link provided, dpkg -i'd it
and then was able to "apt --fix-broken install" the updates to the gles
packages that had been broken..

Sorry it took me awhile.. run as requested following lockup..
It seems initially it still responds to keystrokes, lets you open new
tabs.. but then eventually the whole UI freezes, and attempts to close
with the X will get the app DNR dialog.

I run Unity as my desktop environment at the moment. With a recent
update, the file save dialog presented to me by Firefox appears to have
changed. I'm pretty sure it's an OS dialog and not a Firefox specifi
gvim does not do the same thing, and to create a new folder, it has
"Create Folder" button.
gedit DOES do the same thing, and to create a new folder, it has a "+"
button.

replaced an XML file I created by adding a comment through gthumb.
gthumb segfaulted again.
I removed the XML file from the folder (leaving other XML files in

When I boot into Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, the Realtek driver +
userspace app will detect and display both the socket I'm plugging
something into and the default purpose of that socket.

Shift+X still works... but it doesn't stick and has to be redone for

When I attempt to launch an application (in this case, xvncviewer)
through socksify, I get the message:
ERROR: ld.so: object '/lib/libdl.so.2' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be
preloaded: ignored.
This also happens when I tried to run telnet through it.

In the interim, I have manually fetched the latest package from the
Debian repository and am successfully using it on Ubuntu.
I did need to set innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 0 in MySQL to prevent
disk thrashing.
