@Barry, from my understanding, wubildr.mbr is grub4dos's bootloader, and
it looks on the root of all partitions until it finds the 'rest of
itself': the wubildr file. (Standard grub4dos is the grldr.mbr and
grldr but you can rename these, as has been done for wubi).
The "Try (hd0,0): : " is grub4
Thanks for the workaround to help me install google-chrome-
stable_current_amd64.deb into today's Natty. libcurl3 was already
installed for me, but I've been adding bits and pieces all evening.

That is definitely the wrong patch, it reverts a fix added for
64-bitness and signedness added in fonttools 2.3. Indeed, the Fedora bug
was fixed in version 2.3
Could you please give a simple example of how to reproduce this?

Sorry Mariuz, but I think this isnt the best solution for this ftbfs, we
shouldnt modify debian/rules, we should modify upstream build system. If
it dont bother you I can make a merge modifying upstream Makefiles rules
and report changes to Debian Developer.

On Maverick, 'xinput test' of the device 'xinput list' shows as the keyboard
will show key presses and releases. On current Natty, this is no longer the
case.
In other words, it seems XInput1 for keyboard buttons is broken at the moment.

Rhythmbox-metadata still uses 100% cpu when files are changing
continuously, but it seems to close down fine in 10.10.
Maybe there should be some kind of back-off mechanism? I remember
similar bugs filed with the nautilus thumbnailer some time ago. Not
sure how or even if those were resolved.
