Hi.
My live CD is doing the same thing except that the GUI has not stopped.
I am using an Nvidia card though (Nvidia Geforce 6600 w/ 512 MB).
I can close the window that hangs at 53%, and I can also stop the
installation. Running ubiquity in the terminal has no different effect.

I have this same issue on a D620. This seems like a fairly serious
issue to have been open for so long. Does anyone know if there is any
development time going into fixing this issue?
The command sudo iwpriv eth1 set_mode 4 seems to temporarily help.
Seems like that would be a decent foothold to

acpi crap and I had to remove kubuntu-desktop metapackage as well.

The Ubuntu Beta release worked fine with my laptop! Sometimes the installer
seemed to freeze but after taking a good coffee and a little bit endurance the
installation progress went on. I'd say it is no longer a real bug but the
installation could be more fluent. So I think we can close the

this seems to happen to me when im using alot of memeory example: building a
package but i do see it other times.
I have no addons installed in firefox so this happening due to addons cant be
the only time it happens.

Just to add a me too on this bug, as far as I can tell USB automounting
has been broken since Dapper

If running "MOZ_DISABLE_PANGO=1" to launch firefox and it improves this is most
likely not an X org issue its more of a "pango slowing ffox down"
