Er let me correct myself. Knot 2 and below still used the old init
system, but since Knot3 was released (technically before...) upstart is
the init system. This does not use /etc/inittab.

That's not the issue. the 386 kernel is the default, and is what I've been
running. The desire for a 686 non-SMP kernel is to determine if the
problem is with the 686 optimizations or the SMP code.

I've confirmed that the progress indicator isn't working properly for me

It did this in 32bit Dapper; I think I was using totem-gstreamer. I have
reinstalled Dapper 64bit since and it seems to be working fine with either
backend. The bug may be arch specific and/or fixed in Edgy.

Let's just make sure we're on the same page -- I can't boot at all
with the upstart grub entry -- I get the error message I mentioned
earlier right away, and when I hit control alt delete to reboot with
the non-upstart grub entry, I get the same error.

The patch seem indeed confirm the reported lockups with M6, M7 and
radeon 7000 so far. David will probably do a new stable release of the
radeon driver including it. I recommend that Ubuntu updates dapper and
edgy drivers with that fix and close this bug.

When I add memos in the Memos view, I see them. When I click on Calendar, they
don't appear, but if I select the previous day, they show up. Could you try to
look at previous day in the Calendar ?

Ah ok good to know. I fugred the respawn is only there to keep that VC
listening when a user exists that VC. But of course it can't respawn a

Excellent, changed it to end in .1.1 and it works perfectly, now I'll just
have to figure out why it is automatically setting it to .1.100

Last question.. what about commenting out the Stop line? Will that
theoretically speed up shutdown (even though it probably would not be
noticable)?

In the attached screenshot you can see the icon in the Save Draft
button. Probably a result of it being slightly too small, the icon is
enlarged and blurred.

notebook. The notebook has a joystick/nipple mouse in addition to a
synaptics touchpad. Using gnome-mouse-properties to adjust the
sensitivy only changes the sensitivy

The 0.10 version will be avaliable in the repositories in the next
Ubuntu, Edgy (6.10).
By the way, you can download the .deb for 0.10 version and install it by
hand.

It's not that simple; many languages have more forms than just singular
and plural. For example, Russian and some similar languages have one
form for numbers ending in 1 but not ending in 11, a second form for

I managed to fix this. I had to completely remove adept (which removed
apt-index-watcher, etc. etc)
then I re-installed adept and it installed properly.
The only thing I can think of was that apt-index-watcher was already
running when it tried to start it.. I'm not sure if that would have an
affe
There's a kernel oops in there. This is probably a bad CD (so do an
integrity check, try cleaning your drive lens, etc.), but I'll reassign
to the kernel just in case.
