I can't confirm fix either. In fact, I can confirm it's broken.
The pre-rm script involves pycentral, which attempts to invoke a
nonexistant method "old_versions" from pyversions.
Since the call only exists so pycentral can emit some warnings, and
doesn't affect actual program logic, I commented
I can confirm this bug as well. But I also seem to be getting it from the file
/var/cache/apt/archives/python-pisock_0.12.1-3_i386.deb
Going by what Micah said, I guess that if old_versions method is
corrected, both files will be fixed.

This is not just happening in a Dapper->Edgy update. I have just done a
fresh install of Knot 3 and I have encountered the same issue after my
first 'apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade'. Aptitude seems to work

This bug isn't present on Dapper. My /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf file is
almost exactly the same in Dapper and Edgy, but it works perfectly in
the former but not in the latter.

On an updated Dapper install, I can observe the same behavior. Setting
the timezone to Europe/Belgrade does not stick. The next time I open the
Adjust Date & Time option in the clock on the desktop, the TimeZone is
set to Europe/Sarajevo.

This is the message I get when I try to boot.
The problem started after I downloaded some new updates, including a new
kernel. So I have to pick an earlier kernel and then the machine boots up ok.
