No configuration. It "just worked" out of the box in Breezy (and in
Hoary for that matter), but in Dapper it is now broken.

The title of this should probably read 'hard drive goes missing after
reboot'.
On some advice I got from linuxquestions.org, I tried the Knoppix
livecd. It successfully found and mounted the partitions that were made
within Ubuntu. Some test files I created on it from within ubuntu were

I got +L to lock my screen working in a rather filthy way.
I changed command_1 in /apps/metacity/keybinding_commands to
gnome-screensaver-command --lock
And I also changed run_command_1 in /apps/metacity/global_keybindings to L

The most simple test case I could find that still gives an error:
One folder containing a plain text file and a mp3 file. Using gstreamer
Using totem-xine everything works fine (did not intend to rhyme :D) and
a message pops up, telling me that it won't play text files.

together, made my laptop not usable. However I can still say that no,
restarting evolution did not put them in sync.

It turns out that all my problems with the ipod had a simple
explanation: The ipod's hard drive is faulty, as reported by its own
diagnostics. (It just happened to coincide with me moving to dapper).
I would suggest that anyone still having problems without EFI support in

Okay, a friend of mine has this problem on a Dell Inspiron laptop
running Dapper, with totem-xine. If I remember rightly, the same problem
was appearing with MPlayer as well. We didn't try xine-ui. She did not
have the problem on the same laptop with Breezy, when she was using
xine-ui.

I can't reproduce either, even if the path does not exist, it adds
