Sadly I no longer have that computer to run the tests on, but the problem did "clear up". I think it may have been a hardware issue as sometimes it would refuse to connect under Ubuntu, but would fix itself upon booting into Vista and then subsequently rebooting into Ubuntu. Or perhaps there was a

I tried to check the syslog to see why it had failed, but upon trying to do so, it succeeded in making a connection. Other matters are more pressing right now, but I will do some follow up testing later in the day. Hopefully it will fail again. But hopefully it will succeed. --- On Fri, 9/26/08, C

In Alpha 5, the network manager had an option for a Hex password, which is what I use to get online. However, that was gone in Alpha 6. But I could not even access unprotected routers in Alpha 6, which is what is particularly worrisome. But yours did not connect even in Alpha 5, whereas mine did.
