I prefer using David Megginson's solution above. It's more easier than
you have to install another kernel.

Thanks, but I believe I will just wait until someone decides to either
fix this or to write a program that will work without me having to
program it.

A couple of releases ago, at least, the problem wasn't that the warning
appears, but that the warning dialog would often trigger a bug and
prevent a file from loading (race condition?) when RoseGarden was
launched with a file argument. I'm not sure if that is fixed now or
not, because I haven't us
This cannot be fixed in the program itself, as it is not really a bug.
While timer resolution (which is provided by kernel) has virtually no
impact on your usual tasks (browsing the web, reading your email, even
playing mp3s, where the notes are just prerecorded, not generated on the
fly), for ser
May I ask isn't this something that probably needs to be fixed in the
Rosegarden program instead of having to modify (use an alternate
version) the O/S to accommodate it. Shouldn't the application program
be written to work with the O/S as opposed to the other way around ?
Thanks.

FYI, under Feisty, this is solved by installing the low latency kernel:
sudo apt-get install linux-lowlatency
Worked for me, YMMV.

What exactly is the problem that needs to be fixed in the kernel though?

This happens because the system timer in the kernel is set to only

This is actually a kernel problem, not (primarily) a Rosegarden problem,
so the bug should be assigned to linux-image-generic or something
similar.
