I will get the log files sometime soon.
I realised that its not that it doesn't remember, its just that if i leave it
in the rfkilloff state then the system wouldn't shutdown. And by soft rebooting
the kernel THAT made it not remember.

Yes, wifi should be on by default, unless you uncheck the "Enable
Wireless", in which case the state should be followed across reboots. If
instead you mean the cases where you disable wireless with the
killswitch, then please add the output of the rfkill command when you
turn wireless off; th
I tried the natty beta today, with all the updates and this problem seems fixed.
So I guess somebody found it without my help. :)
The wifi card is still on on startup by default though. Is this going to be the
new default behavior, or is this a bug?

When I said: "If the card is working for a session, turning it of at any time

I was mistaken. I'm not sure why I said that.
Now as far as I can tell (and remember), if the card is in the "working" state
turning it on
As far as nmapplet is concerned the wirless card does not exist at all (when it
is stuck in "off").
So the enable wirless checkbox is greyed out.
I will see if i can get a copy of Natty to test it out with aswell. Might not
get it before the release though.

What is the state of the "Enable wireless" checkbox menu entry in the
right-click menu for the NetworkManager applet?
