Nick, yes, that's because the ati driver was fixed after beta release by
Ben and others. It's a set of other bugs not related to the Xserver one.

Ben, yes it's an Xserve G5. Never mind the difference in the BusId
between the report and the tests. They used 2 different machines but we
did verify that.
Changing the BusID doesn't help, commenting it out makes the server
"freeze" for a bit and then come back later.

It is worth noting that the PowerBook worked with Dapper, worked with
Dapper upgraded to Edgy, but did not work with the Edgy livecd before
today's daily.

Looking at the logs i think there at least 2 issues here.
One is that the card is on PCI slot 0001:06:03.0. note that 0001 domain at the
beginning that's not usually present on other

Tollef had me try today's daily build (20061011.1) for X, and it worked.
Looks like the solution has been found.
The bootsplash still goes into a funny scrambled state where the
background is black, statusbar background is rainbow, and status bar
itself is correct. This happens much later now tha

I downloaded the latest daily-live PPC CD and X continues not to work as
described above.
The image I tested is:
