Before the steps above, I've updated the foo2zjs with the instructions
from http://foo2zjs.rkkda.com/ , but things gone worse, as the printer
doesn't even recognized anymore.
Also, the "apt-get dist-upgrade" doesn't touch foo2zjs, but only hplip
hpijs hplip-data . The stran

deb http://www.grad.hr/~ivoks/ubuntu/hplip ./
after that:
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
Then go into KDE's System Setting, Printers, Add
The printer detected on /usb/hp_LaserJet_1000
Choose driver HP - Laserjet 1000 foo2zjs
Voila, it prints!

The LaserJet 1000 is not supported by HPLIP, so Ante's HPLIP update most
probably will not have fixed this problem, but the "apt-get dist-
upgrade" has most probably also pulled the foo2zjs update from the
official repositories.

guys update I think I have fixed everything now .. the DiviceURI was typed
in correctly.. as soon as i changed it and saved the .txt conf. file the
whole thing just started up and ran fine.

sudo dpkg --purge hplip-base
sudo apt-get --reinstall install hplip
sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys restart
Try adding you printer then. Soon we will have new CUPS packages in
Dapper which should help most of these errors.
