Hey Andy, the laptop I was running Jaunty development on is now running
Karmic development. I have not been able to reproduce this problem
since before my previous comment. You can close this report at your
discretion.
If I have more suspend/resume problems I will file a new report.
Thanks.

I've Hi Andy, I've something else installed on it currently so cannot

@Anzan -- as yours is a different laptop please file a separate bug for
your issue. Most suspend/resume bugs have the exact same symptoms but
radically different causes.
@Connor -- could you confirm whether this is occuring on the latest
jaunty -proposed kernel. Also could you try the latest mai
I have this same problem on a ThinkPad R40. Shut the lid, suspends as
set to in power management just fine. But then it won't resume, won't
respond to ALT+SYSRQ+K or CTL+ALT F1. Hard shutdown.

I ran the suspend_test script in Jaunty yesterday and everything seemed
to work ok. Last week I was able to capture a backtrace for xorg which
I filed as bug 347616 - it is possible that the root cause of the
problem is the same, but I'm not entirely sure since it didn't spawn a

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, Andy.
I've tried the method on that site to initiate a suspend/resume cycle about 20
times, and have not been able to reproduce. Lately I had a lot of issues
performing updates in Jaunty, in the midst of which I did get a lot of failures
with suspend
That is very tricky. The next step is to enable serious debugging for
each suspend. You would have to do those by hand though. The details
of how this is done are below, but as its not very easy to reproduce its
going to be painful:

Ok, lets close it off for now against those fixes, and if it recurs
we'll get a new one for sure with the updates information. Do mention
this one when that occurs.

Andy, it is a difficult bug to reproduce as it rarely appears, but I
will definitely keep my eyes open for it to appear again. I regularly
update my development version installs. If you think this bug can be
closed due to fixes, then certainly do so. If the problem appears again
I can file a new
@Connor -- there have been some new bugs (just fixed) which meant
suspending from the keyboard would trigger double and even tripple
consecutive sleeps. With the latest Jaunty updates that should now be
fixed. Be interested if you can reproduce with those installed.
