Andy, it is a difficult bug to reproduce as it rarely appears, but I will definitely keep my eyes open for it to appear again. I regularly update my development version installs. If you think this bug can be closed due to fixes, then certainly do so. If the problem appears again I can file a new apport bug if it pops up, or re-open this one. Thanks!
