Sorry for the delayed response but thanks for the constant updates and
testing. It would seem this particular issue of not even being able to
install has been resolved as of Jaunty Alpha4. If you could open a new
bug regarding the ACPI warning that would be better. It's just helpful
Sound is actually fine, it's just the Ubuntu opening tune sounds awful -
probably a change or something that hasn't quite been ironed out yet...

Ok - So I got a copy of Jaunty Alpha 4 - ran ok, installed ok and is
currently my usable system. The only error I see now comes up just after
startup:

One other thing... I was trying to work out if it had something to do with
nForce drivers. I tried installing them from terminal but so far didn't work
out. NVidia claims that they are a part of some Linux distro's, but didn't see
Ubuntu on their list. Something to think about. Might be a part o
So, seems I get a quick startup error with the live CD. I attached the
syslog printouts. If you need more please tell me. Seems to boot up ok
for the most part, but crashes out when it starts the install. Screen
blanks out when partitioner starts to load system. Leaves the existing
install running

So I tried the disk, and can get to the demo just fine. When I try to
install, I get through all the initial setup prompts, and after the last
step (username, etc..), it fails to load. It starts off, and shows the
disk partitioner starting up, just as that gets up to speed, the screen

(currently Alpha3) and confirm if this issue remains? Jaunty contains

While it's true that you see busybox mentioned, it's just the program
that provides the rescue shell you get dumped into when stuff goes
wrong, and also some other utility programs; it's certainly not
responsible for figuring out how to handle your disk drive. I expect

I attempted to boot from CD again to get more info... I do not have disk
space/time to actually attempt an install again.
