Ok - So I got a copy of Jaunty Alpha 4 - ran ok, installed ok and is currently my usable system. The only error I see now comes up just after startup:

So far doesn't seem to cause any noticeable problems. I have some odd sound issues, but that may be some settings in BIOS? not sure just yet. Running stock sound which is C-Media Superior Quality 7.1 onboard sound. Anybody out there?
