Natty Beta on the Thinkpad R31 here. Goes to sleep when cover closed,
I can't get it to wake it up.
By the way, Unity 2D desktop as installed from Synaptic is running O.K.,
worth a try.

I apologize for my late reply, the bug is still confirmed with fresh
install of Ubuntu 10.10. I checked only last week, when updating the old
machine. Please, change the status accordingly or let me know, should I
change it myself. Can I provide some more info (apport-collect) in order
to progress

Hi guys, can anyone confirm if this is a problem in Karmic, or better yet from
a live CD of Lucid? If so, please run
apport-collect 302826
and allow it full access to pull in the debugging information.
Thank you.

hm.. as I wrote you the reply, I wandered around and found ppa for kernel

http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.29/ , so I tried both, just
to prove that Linus was right and that his patch affect my bug too :-|

avail - resume doesn't work properly at all.
My screen blanking is without any problem, set via gnome power management to 25
minutes and it works just fine. Never had any problem with it. Hibernate works
like charm

I went here https://wiki.blue-it.org/Thinkpad_R31
and added kernel parameters to my menu.list
ro quiet i8042.nomux=1 irqpoll acpi_no_auto_ssdt acpi_sleep=s3_bios

After one of following updates (1 week max from my successfull report),
the suspend ceased to work again. I suspect, that it was not kernel
