This has been working OOTB with no further issues for a long time now,
so I'm pretty certain it's fine to close this bug.

Strangely, sometimes wifi just doesn't work after booting. I still
suspect this is caused by some collision with nvidia drivers v177 -- I
think it doesn't ever happen if I deactivate them. I'm attaching dmesg

Did not try linux-backports-modules.
I don't know if Intrepid / kernel 2.6.27 was supposed to correct this bug, but
it didn't work for me.
However I did follow the steps on

@Joris, you may want to try installing linux-backports-modules as it

Yes, quite sure. Anyway, here is a new dmesg output, lspci output and

Hi Guys,
@Joris, you mentioned you "turned on the wireless switch after KDE had
finished loading". Are you sure you didn't disable wireless when you
flipped the switch as I first see in your dmesg output:
[ 57.823085] iwlagn: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux,
1.3.27ks
[ 57.8
I've got problem with my intel 5100 too! After boot dmesg show me this :
[ 17.468863] iwlagn: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux,
1.3.27ks
[ 17.468866] iwlagn: Copyright(c) 2003-2008 Intel Corporation
[ 17.469673] iwlagn :03:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17
After a very recent update that installed kernel 2.6.27-3, among other
things, WLAN now *does* work here on x86_64 and can be turned off and on
by pressing the corresponding key! (Had some trouble with restricted
nvidia graphics modules after updating, but re-installing them cured the
problem.)

Leann - testing with an Alpha5 LiveCD right now. Pretty much the same as
before. dmesg output attached (note I tried switching Wifi on twice by
pressing the corresponding button, so that's also in my dmesg output).

Thanks for testing and the updates guys.
Bernhard - would you be willing to maybe test with an Alpha5 LiveCD when
it's finally released (seems to be delayed at the moment - hopefully by
today it will come out). If it still fails to work can you attach your
dmesg output? Thanks.
