I've got problem with my intel 5100 too! After boot dmesg show me this : [ 17.468863] iwlagn: Intel(R) Wireless WiFi Link AGN driver for Linux, 1.3.27ks [ 17.468866] iwlagn: Copyright(c) 2003-2008 Intel Corporation [ 17.469673] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 17 [ 17.469702] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: setting latency timer to 64 [ 17.469775] iwlagn: Detected Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100AGN REV=0x54 [ 17.515237] iwlagn: Tunable channels: 13 802.11bg, 24 802.11a channels [ 17.515659] iwlagn 0000:03:00.0: PCI INT A disabled [ 17.516211] phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'iwl-agn-rs'
wich looks fine, but if I try to use it with iwconfig (network manager doesn't want to do anything) I got an error and dmesg tell me that RFSWITCH is off, and that's true : cat /proc/bus/pci/driver/iwlagn/.../state return 2 !
