Broadcom 4311 wlan card no longer works under Hardy
https://bugs.launchpad.
Installed Ibex as new install. Wired works fine. Wireless using BCM4311
still does not work using new b43 driver nor does it work using
ndiswrapper. There is request for WPA/WPA2 key. After entering it, no
success in connecting. PS wireless using atheros chip to same network
works fine under Ibex (
Mysteriously neither the wired nor the wireless connections now work! My
/etc/network/netfaces only has entry for lo. I've tried amending it for
a static eth0 but no good. The network manager applet shows connection
wirelessly with the appropriate addresses set correctly (i.e. for ip,
route, broadc
I'm no longer using ndiswrapper (with bcmwl5 driver). I'm now using
Broadcom's new driver, which works fine. /etc/network/interfaces file
attached.

Could you please attach a current copy of your /etc/network/interfaces

I've now put in 'eth1'. If I have the ethernet cable disconnected, then I don't
get any wireless connection. If I have it connected, then I get wired
connection through eth0. But Network Manager doesn't show eth1, so i can't
connect wirelessly. When I do sudo /etc/init/d/networking rest
Every interface also requires 'auto ethXYZ' so it sounds like you would
need 'auto eth1' and 'iface eth1 inet dhcp'.

I put 'iface eth1 inet dhcp' in /etc/network/interfaces. Didn't help
even when I did 'ifup eth1'. I want to be able to use wired (i.e. eth0)
when at home and wireless (i.e. eth1) when away from home (on my
laptop): surely his must be possible with Hardy.
I 'reversed out' fix suggested in bug 21876
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. If eth1 is in fact your Broadcom 4311 wlan device then
you'll want that in your /etc/network/interfaces file similar to the
other two devices in there. Additionally, Restricted Drivers Manager is
now called Jockey
