I also have this issue:
Setup :
Gateway M460
ATI Proprietary Driver
Laptop monitor 1280x800 (primary)
Dell FP1905 (1280x1024) (secondary)
Each monitor hosts separate session.
Personally, I don't know if it's a problem in the ATI driver, or the
Screensaver program.

I do not see how this is an ati driver issue. I was using ati 8.3
proprietary drivers in 7.10 the exact same ati 8.3 driver does not work
in 8.04 that would lead me to believe that something in 8.04 changed
since nothing changed on the ati side. Perhaps the new XORG or perhaps
a fat finger somewh
As proprietary drivers are proprietary, the only real hope is to either
contact ATI directly (oh, they do fix display adapter and driver related
bugs, I have corresponded with them previously and they did excellent
job) or to find the problem from the gnome-screensaver instead. It might
