Ok, so I've been debugging this since last week and it seemed to have
been related to TCL's `spawn` command not working properly on the LP
builders for some reason (this then fails one of the `kill` tests as
expect can't verify output from the spawned process). I haven't been
able to reproduce thi
Hi Andreas,
thanks for the rebuild trigger! I've re-tried that build a couple of
times already, and it still seems to consistently fail. I don't believe
this is a regression from this LP; the build fails on make check-DEJAGNU

This failed to build on arm64, whereas the previous version built, so
it's a regression. Can somebody troubleshoot that failure please? Seems
like a build-time test failure, so for now I triggered a new build
attempt.

Thanks for the feedback, Robie! It seems there's been some issues with
the autopkgtests, some of the tmpfails are slowly becoming green after
retries. I'm also a bit puzzled by the arm64 FTBFS, as that should not
have been caused by adding a sysctl file (seems like the 'kill' test is
failing). The
BQL ended up in the virtio-net driver in a recent kernel release and showed
significant benefits with fq_codel on the test suite they used.
At one level I don´t mind this fix not making the default next release, in
that perhaps we could get some informed testing of before/after

This missed making it into 24.04.1, but it'd be nice to get this
released immediately after the images for 24.04.1 are finalised, so that
users get the new behaviour from day one of using 24.04.1. I asked about
this in #ubuntu-release. It'd be a great help if this could be SRU-

this way, but this seems preferable than to switch to the reported-worse

in 24.04's lifetime, given that the .1 release is due this week.

I've linked a merge proposal to fix this regression, introducing a new
10-bufferbloat.conf file under the procps package. The reasons for
fixing this in procps vs e.g. our kernel config or even in systemd are
on the bug description, but a quick summary:
