[Bug 180937] Re: Spreadsheet time "sum" resets at 24:00

2008-03-08 Thread Chris Cheney
The spreadsheet shows up as 00:32:00 even in Excel, at least in Excel 2007 which is part of Office 2007. So it appears your spreadsheet is buggy and should use the [HH]:MM:SS form in OpenOffice and some other similar format in Excel. ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Assignee: Brian Murr

I cannot locate the cell format option [hh]:mm:ss in OpenOffice. It is possible we are using different versions (mine is OpenOffice.org core 1:2.3.0-lubuntu 5.3, Tue Nov 27 18:52:42 GMT 2007). I have tried all the different time format and custom format options in Excel, and the behaviour of the

I see what you are saying but I'm still curious as to how the cells are formatted in Excel though. Additionally looking in the help of OpenOffice.org I found that the time format "hh" is defined as 0 to 23 which I think helps to explain the behavior you are seeing. After changed all the cells to

Brian I may have confused the description of the problem. The formatting of cell D19 is not relevant to the issue I was noting, since the problem I reported relates not to what happens in the cells themselves (that's another story, but Excel and OO are the same on that front) rather to the behavi

Graham - I personally don't have a copy of Microsoft Excel so don't know what the formatting of cell D19 is in it. However, changing the formatting of cell D19 to "[HH]:MM:SS" shows the correct behaviour (72 hours) for me. What does Microsoft Excel show the formatting of that cell as? Is it "HH:

Pedro I am not sure if you got these attachments I sent through earlier, but I had tried my best to document the issue clearly. I have attached them again in case they went astray. I have compared the behaviour closely between MS Excel and OpenOffice and the problem is real, but I may not be des

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. With which specific version of the openoffice.org package did you notice this issue? You can check using the command 'dpkg -l openoffice.org | cat'. Additionally, when formatting a cell you are presented with a "
