Forgot to also mention, that on first run with the update, terminal output
displays:
e-data-server-ui-Message: Unable to find password(s) in keyring (Keyring
reports: No matching results)
e-data-server-ui-Message: Key file does not have group 'Passwords-Mail'

Looks like the latest proposed update for evolution-data-server,
2.22.1.1-0ubuntu2, works beautifully. However, it does seem to need the
matching evolution and evolution-common in order for it to work.
Without it, it acts the same as my previous comments. It should also be
noted, that I deleted t

what do you have in the .gnome2_private files? change the random chars
on the account lines since they are passwords if you copy that to the
bug

password migration via an SRU, as this is ultimately a feature /
behavior change. We should get additional verification of this SRU,
beyond the usual, before accepting into -updates, including a clear
comparison of the UI diffe

tested it on my laptop and it works correctly

My understanding is that the feature was disabled because of the problem
that Gustavo had mentioned: previously, the keyring didn't unlock
automatically at login, so if you saved your password, whenever you
started evolution it would ask for the keyring password, thereby making
saving the password
So, is this feature disabled by default because of the problem sebastien
was mentioning? or isn't it implemented yet?

There is one issue there though, that requires to enter the password
again, would be nice if evolution could migrate password automatically
to no disturb users

Definitely! Keyring now can easily become transparent, no unlock
keyring password annoyance anymore. And I _really_ hate to store
passwords in a plain text file (well, it's base64 encoded IIRC, but that
is trivial to crack), so I end up not saving some of my more sensitive
passwords, which is dou
