Hi Kevin,
Do you not think it could be winbind as per comment #6, rather than
cifs-utils? Same problem I guess.
MAW.

Still getting this. Unfortunately I can't switch to Debian as this is my
desktop. I looked for a PPA with an updated cifs-utils but the only one
I could find has lots of gnome stuff which I don't want to upgrade. I
may try pining cifs-utils out of that one and see what that does when I
get a chance
After some further reflection I wondered about the version of winbind in
each case, this is the result:
Ubuntu 13.04 (not working): winbind/raring uptodate 2:3.6.9-1ubuntu1
Debian Wheezy 7.1 (working): winbind/wheezy uptodate 2:3.6.6-6
So maybe the Ubuntu version has been (in this respect at lea
After a bit more investigation (whilst setting up a new server) with
Lubuntu 13.04 and later with Debian Wheezy 7.1 I have found that Debian
Wheezy works okay:
Ubuntu 12.04: cifs-utils/precise-updates uptodate 2:5.1-1ubuntu2 - this
version seems to work.
Lubuntu 13.04: cifs-utils/raring uptodate
Just noticed this morning that this same bug is affecting me. V6R1 on
the iSeries. I can do whatever is needed to help debug as I have full
authority on the iSeries box.

Hi Mark,
We are working with a V6R1.
As I'm not an AS400 expert, I don't know how to provide a more detailled
version reference.
Have a nice day ahead.

Hi Yohann,
Thanks for the support - nice to know I am not alone! You didn't say
which version of OS/400 you were using. It might help to know that as
things might be better on V610 or V710, or then again, maybe not.
It would be nice if perhaps the IBM i team could allocate some resource,

I have exactly the same problem since I have updated Ubuntu to the
13.04. I have the same version of cifs-utils than Mark Andrew Wheadon.
One precision, in my case I don't have the problem with Windows
partitions, but only with AS400 IFS partitions.
Is there a workaround ?
Thanks a lot.
