I am using feisty and have been experiencing the same bug since some

however I found the following workaround: when I use iwconfig to
associate to the AP, I also specify the channel as follows

I'm using Ubuntu Feisty on a HP Pavilion dv9000 and I have the same
problem. My system is like this:
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network
Connection (rev 02)
ipw3945 118816 1
ieee80211 34760 1 ipw3945
Linux tarvalon 2.6.20-16-gen
I second ThomasDahlmann's questions: It is very annoying and stops me
from using hibernation. Please fix this issue. All of the suggestions
provided here don't work in my particular case.

I also have this problem (only noticed it in Gutsy, but FGLRX hasn't let
me suspend since Dapper or Edgy)... I can sometimes fix it with:
sudo killall `ps aux | grep ipw3945d | grep -v grep | awk '{print $11}'`
sudo rm /var/run/ipw3945*.pid
sudo rm /var/run/dhclient.eth1.pid
sudo rmmod ipw3945

Thanks for the hint Thomas. Yes I tried it and had no success. After my machine
woke up from hibernate the network manager tried to establish a connection.
Note: I cannot disable/enable the network before the network-manager tries to
re-associate with an AP because the network-manager already tr

Thanks Thomas!
I've tried it out and it seems to work out just okay. Not that it is perfect, I
still have to disable/enable networking through network-manager before it
re-associates to my AP, after resume from suspend or hibernation.
But now at least I have a way to make it work without reboot
Sorry Thomas (de Graaff). Your suggestion does not work on my Acer
Aspire. I also tried Thomas (Dahlmanns) suggestion and disabled/enabled
networking through the network-manager, but no success at all. Seems I
have to stick with my (sad) situation a little bit longer. Thanks

My computer with Xubuntu feisty had a problem with getting an ip-adress
after waking from hibernation. I´ve solved this problem by changing
/etc/default/acpi-support
Editing this file, look for the line below, where to add [networking]
after that no problems anymore:

I am running Feisty on an Acer Aspire 5650 with latest updates
(2.6.20-16-generic) and I am experiencing the same problem. This stops
me from using Hibernate mode. Currently I don't have an opportunity to
use any power safe modus, because Suspend To Ram is completely broken
