Thanks for the hint Thomas. Yes I tried it and had no success. After my machine woke up from hibernate the network manager tried to establish a connection. Note: I cannot disable/enable the network before the network-manager tries to re-associate with an AP because the network-manager already tries to establish a connection when resuming after hibernate. I tried your "trick" after the network-manager failed to establish a connection.
