Sorry Thomas (de Graaff). Your suggestion does not work on my Acer Aspire. I also tried Thomas (Dahlmanns) suggestion and disabled/enabled networking through the network-manager, but no success at all. Seems I have to stick with my (sad) situation a little bit longer. Thanks anyway, it was worth a try.
