Updating the firmware fixes the problem (printer prints correctly with IPP both
with PCL6/PS driver).
Driver used: R150860.EXE

See the upstream bug report.
Either update your printer's firmware or use the LPD URI.
In CUPS 1.3 the automatic URI selection will be improved.

This is a problem of CUPS itself. Reported it upstream as

For the time being use the LDP URI.

Other interesting fact:
1. If you print through a samba share with either PCL/PS driver, it works!!!
2. If you add printer and set mode to LPD rather than IPP, then host =
192.168.1.3, and no queue name (with either PCL/PS driver), it prints fine!!!
But if I use IPP (i.e. gnome-cups-manager dete

Are you sure your printer is able to do PostScript? Please check the manual.
You have set up your printer using the Generic PostScript driver, this is

If your printer is able to do PostScript you should use the PPD that is

IP address (192.168.1.3) is the IP of the printer itself. It is a network
printer connected through an ethernet wire to a router, and NOT a router with
integrated print server.
Also, I'll give you the 2 outputs you requested tomorrow evening, since I don't
have access to the printer right now.
Could you also attach cups error_log with LogLevel set to debug, this will
reveil more information.
How to set LogLevel to debug is described here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems under CUPS error_log.

Is the machine with IP address 192.168.1.3 another machine running Ubuntu, or
