Although my fan seems to be working harder in both Ubuntu and W7.
But yes, I can adjust brightness with function keys in KK and no flickering
occurring.

How do I reverse that "echo 4" command, as my suspend has stopped working, and
the only things I have done are the echo command and the "nomodeset" on grub.
I have tried removing "nomodeset" in grub, but the suspend is still not working.
I presume that I need to send a different n
U100 here as well, webcam does not work in any program.

@Steve - Thankyou for the 'nomodeset' option, this works well
@Guido - I appreciate what you are saying, however as an end user.
This 'bug in the MSI bios' does not seem to be a problem on XP, Vista, Windows
7, or for that matter Ubuntu 9.04.
Therefore, as an end user, when I install Ubun
My 'workaround' is to set the brightness level in 'System-Preferences-Power
Management' to '0 %'.
I also have turned off all options in there for Dimming the display or reducing
brightness.
This stops the flashing at startup, or when coming out of suspend.
Then add the 'brightness applet' to the
devkit-disks --dump

I did an update earlier, and it seems to be working perfectly now.
Not sure if it had something to do with the update, or it was just something
spurious on my machine.

No USB issue here (U100) - just flashing brightness.
I added (on Ubuntu) the "brightness applet" to my panel, and with it, I can
adjust the LCD brightness with no flashing at all.
Also, if you use the function keys and it starts that whole blinking thing, if
you then adjust the brightness with th

Alright, have just found out that if using rdesktop at the command line and
including the argument...
-r clipboard:CLIPBOARD
that the local machine does not lock up if the clipboard on the remote
xp machine is used.

hmmm ... this also appears to be occurring to some extent when copying text in
the remote session, but only slows the machine down for a small amount of time
(say 10 seconds) instead of minutes or more.
Could it be rdesktop trying to do something with the copied content?
