How do we raise the importance of this bug? This is ridiculous. Having browsed for hours looking for a fix, my machine intermittently but usually never finds shares. I have Windows, Linux (embedded NAS device), and mac. Why aren't they showing up on a brand new install of 10.10? Yes I can mount sha

I have never used the -envy packages. I ALWAYS build packages using the ATI installer, which uses dkms. I'm using most recent 8.6 catalyst now. I will remove the script, and try depmod -ae as I usually depmod -a, then modprobe. if this works, i won't post again, but thanks! otherwise I will repor

Alberto Milone: this did not work. fglrx simply does not load. I'm reverting back to my startup script as I don't know another way to initialize fglrx. I'm using upgraded version of hardy (kernel 2.6.24-19 now) I've built the drivers from ATI's installer (catalyst 8.06-june) It's installed here

Adding module to /etc/modules does not work for me. Following the prescription here http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Gutsy_Installation_Guide#A_possible_problem_with_fglrx.ko_conflicts does not work for me. I made my own script simply by insmodding the fglrx.ko at boot. sudo gedit /etc/i

Same problem here. I'm not sure how to edit init.d but it's necessary so that I don't have to manually insmod every login. Especially with compiz. I have to blindly alt+F2, type xterm, metacity --replace everytime. Hopefully adding fglrx to /etc/modules will work... -- Hardy: fglrx not working

Any updates on this bug? I can attest that I have it too! *cough* *cough* Also no cpufreq directories and/or subdirectories. Running Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 / AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1.8Ghz Output: $ cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/ cat: /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/: Is a directory $ sudo /etc/init.d/p
