Because I was too tired to read i suspect, and my apologies for that.
However, having downloaded and compiled 1.9.15, I still can't get a date
on the x-axis. The y-axis is fine, but there is no Format tab on the
X-Axis1 "Customise Chart" widget. Attempting to put it in manually
doesn't work either

There is a format tab for the y-axis but not for the x-axis, and there
seems to be no way to get it to take the first column as the axis and
format it correctly.

I use an nvidia 128mb videocard. I too have no logical explanation why
this could happen. I also don't use any desktop effects.
I also reinstalled my Ubuntu Feisty version 7.04. But the same happend
after i changed my wallpaper.
I will continue to play around. And hopefully i will find

I found out that when i change my wallpaper, the totemplayer produces
the wrong colors during a movie. as soon as i go back to the original
ubuntu wallpaper the problem is gone?
