I think the problem is at a lower level than nautilus - I'm seeing the

Public bug reported:
Prior to my upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 if I inserted a cd the device
notifier would pop up and I could take an action based on the system
settings. Now nothing happens - if I start (say) k3b and it is an audio
cd that will see the tracks and I can rip them without a problem.
I've upgraded to 13.04 and can no longer replicate this problem, so - I
think - as far as 13.04 is concerned this bug can be closed

Binary package hint: update-manager
Due to various ppas being installed the 10.10 -> 11.04 kubuntu upgrade was
failing with a held package error.
The dialog which reports this has a 'Report Bug' button - when I clicked this I
got a google-chrome cannot be run as root error.
Yes, removing those two solved the upgrade problem for me - thank you!

Hi,
I'm going to jump on the bandwagon here with a big "me too".
But my mute button does not work either, if that is relevant.
The strange thing is that these keys used to work in Jaunty before. They
only recently stopped working. (Update perhaps?)
I have tried most of the stuff mentioned above
