So the workaround is to edit /etc/profile and, in the line:
export AWT_TOOLKIT="MToolkit"

Among these, firefox was upgraded from 3.0.19 to 3.6.6. After this upgrade, any
page using flash is not loaded, a banner with "flash plugin crashed" appearing

Exactly the same thing happening to me also in an Acer Aspire One after
upgrading the kernel to 2.6.24-23.48. Fortunately an older kernel was
left so I can boot and work. From the last comments, I understand that
2.6.24-23.49 in the repository does not solve the problem and we have to
wait for 2.6.

5300C used to work perfectly in Gutsy. It does not work in Heron. When
connecting the scanner the usb devices are created but not assigned to the
"scanner" group. If I manually change the group to "scanner", device is
detected when starting xsane as normal user but the program segfaults or hangs

If I enable compiz, the notes dissappear left-clicking in the desktop but if I
disable compiz again, the bad behaviour returns. Cannot have correct perfomance
if compiz is disabled (this is different from what was told above).
